A Letter From Our Founder

To our guests, friends and family,

Ahem, Chat GPT, are you there? Just kidding. Unlike my husband, the early adopter who tried to convince me to use AI back in the 2021 holiday letter, I will attempt to take this on by my lonesome. Until we have robots replacing the palpable stroke - which encompasses ME SPA’s purpose - I will speak and write in authentic sentences. As we head into our tenth year of business, contemplating what a humbling year the ninth one has been, I cannot help but feel like a teenager hanging out in the back of my best friend’s Chevy pondering the meaning of life. My husband Benjamin and I are both about a half a century old with children on the brink of their own adulthood, so he keeps frustratingly asking me why this subject again? Lisa, why do you keep asking this absurd metaphysical question?

IDK. But I can boil down one truth - the embodiment of ME SPA. There is an undeniable serenity felt by the human touch. At ME SPA, we touch lives in so many ways - physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. I know my life is touched by the incredible people I work with both directly and indirectly, by the outpouring of touching reviews we receive from our guests daily, by the loyal members that frequent our spas ritually- and I’m fairly certain aren’t any social media tags that replicate these very real raw human emotions.

During this holiday season, where we hopefully have the privilege to step back and spend quality time with our most cherished ones, I want to thank everyone that makes this company breathe - our beloved employees and guests (of course), my husband and kids who tolerate my late working hours (yeah, they’re up on the list, I guess), my father who took a chance on me and invested in this small family business nearly a decade ago, my late mother whom the soul of this business rests, and my sister who’s unshakeable faith I envy.

I am grateful for our team’s accomplishments this year, both inward and outward facing, including the extension of our Employee Rock Star Rewards program, countless successful ME SPA University trainings, new and improved services like the Ultimate HydroDermabrasion, and yet another year winning Naperville Magazine’s awards for both “Best Massage” & ”Best Full Service Spa” and being a finalist for Santa Rosa’s Press Democrat’s “Best of Sonoma” Day Spa. Most importantly, I am proud of our passionate Spa Directors who played such an integral part of the charitable cause that deeply connects us through participating in the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation annual awareness 5K event held in Chicago, which raised over $980,000, this past September.

Back to the original subject - what is the meaning of life? Yeah, that one. Should we take a cue from Alex Trebek and recognize that the answer lies in asking the right question? Perhaps I should stop asking the what or the why and look further into the how. How should we live our lives with meaning? Seeing it as a GIFT may be the way to go.Treat life like a gift where gratitude for moments eclipses any physical planetary objects and embrace the principle of optimism.

Our only real source of power as human beings is the energy we choose to emit.

Thank you EVERYONE for this gift. May it return to you tenfold.
